Justin Gardner is a freelance photographer currently based out of Lubbock, TX.
His work spans a range of genres-including street, documentary, and surf photography-and has been featured in various online publications, including Civil Beat and The Mānoa Mirror. While his subjects vary, Gardner approaches most of his work through a documentary lens, using his camera to capture the world as it unfolds around him.
Gardner earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where he double-majored in art and journalism. Originally from Texas, Gardner relocated to Hawaii in 2017, where he discovered a passion for photography and surfing. That passion has since led him to photograph major events such as World Surf League competitions and The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. He has since relocated to Lubbock, TX to pursue his MFA at Texas Tech University.
